Bang Delivers for Riverside Housing

Animated but Accessible, creating an e-card which ticks all the boxes.

Design an animated e-card, manage the process, send it out for us, and record the results.

Simple. For an agency with a rapidly growing reputation in digital and interactive works, briefs don't get much easier.

However, we've over 30 different brands – so we'll need variable data to auto-pick card signatures and logos for the generic card template.

"We'll need you to help coordinate and manage the collation of over 30 data-sets, with absolutely no room for error".

"And we've concerns regarding stakeholder access to Adobe Flash – so you'll need to find an alternative solution for animating the card (and one which has no cross-platform compatibility issues)"

All of a sudden, things got a little more interesting.

For the Marketing Team at Riverside Housing Group, one of the UK's largest social landlords and last year's ‘Social Landlord of the Year', tackling complex issues like this is part of the daily routine. At one of their busiest times of the year, they needed a supplier who could be trusted to flawlessly project manage the entire e-card process from inception through to delivery.

Exactly the sort of challenge relished by Bang, the brief was accepted instantly and our creative, digital and account management teams set about bringing the card to life.

Our digital team quickly plotted the best technical solution which involved resurrecting the lost-art of developing animated GIFs that open automatically and work across all platforms.

With the full brief now in mind, our creatives became animators and crafted a winter street scene frame-by-frame which gradually illuminated and came to life, helping recipients visualise Riverside's ‘Revitalising Communities, Changing Lives' positioning statement.

Finally, our project managers prepared the 30 plus datasets, ensuring the card mailed bang on-time, well in advance of the Christmas break. The Card was extremely well received, and upon evaluation Bang gained some superb feedback from Riverside.
