Marketing Campaign Cuts Violent Crime by a Third

Bang Marketing's ‘Bar Code' campaign has helped reduce violent crime in Kirklees by a staggering 33% over the Winter period.

The figures, compiled by West Yorkshire Police, are even more impressive considering that most of the UK experienced increases in violent crime over the festive season.

The Bar Code campaign used carefully crafted messages to target 16-24 year olds in Kirklees' worst affected town centres.

The campaign included a series of innovative communications, including Christmas cards being mailed to prolific offenders, and giant images being projected onto the side of Huddersfield's main shopping centre.

This activity was backed up by a comprehensive outdoor advertising, promotions, direct mail, and PR campaign.

Chris Garratt, Strategic Marketing Manager at Bang Marketing, said "These results show just how effective marketing can be for public and social sector organisations."

"The campaign was an overwhelming success and has already grabbed the attention of other forces who are looking to gain similar results."

The campaign's results further enhance Bang's reputation as a leading marketing consultancy in the North of the country, and provides a further example of Bang's specialist expertise in developing marketing campaigns for the Police, and public and social sector organisations.
