Pennine Housing 2000 is Calderdale's largest locally based registered social landlord with over 12,000 properties in the area.

Following the succesful completion of a range of corporate literature, Pennine Housing 2000 (PH2k) approached Bang with a brief to help tackle domestic violence.

PH2k's Sanctuary Scheme was part of a wider target hardening intiative being run by Calderdale Council.

Many victims of domestic violence are forced to flee their homes in fear of further abuse. However, the Sanctuary Scheme aims to give victims the confidence, support and security measures required to stay in their own homes.

Bang's expertise in both the social housing and crime and disorder sectors helped PH2k develop fully accessible communications regarding the Scheme.

Matt Skelland, Director at Bang Marketing said "Because of the abuse domestic violence victims often also suffer low motivation and self esteem. The Sanctuary Scheme is an important step in helping them recover their confidence and lifestyle".

"The materials we developed were made available in community languages, audio and braille formats. Anyone can become a victim of domestic violence, it was important that our materials were accessible to all".
