PCSOs and outreach staff were then able to hit these areas with carefully targeted promotions, which included faux parking ticket warnings, leaflets, stickers for parking meters and door-to-door visits.
This was backed up with town centre promotional activity, which included parking a demonstration vehicle within Huddersfield's main indoor shopping centre.
By combining this activity with a series of tough interventions Bang were able to generate some staggering results - including an 84% reduction in theft from vehicles in one locality.
