West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (WYF&RS) selected Bang Marketing to help them develop plans for a multi-million pound education and awareness centre.

The project, known as the Fire Place, was originally planned as an educational attraction centre for young people throughout the region.

Bang was asked to conduct a comprehensive feasibility study into the demand and sustainability of the Fire Place alongside COI listed educational communications specialist Innovate Educate.

Bang's research highlighted flaws in the long term viability for the Fire Place. A series of alternative proposals were therefore tested and presented to WYF&RS.

Following Bang and Innovate Educate's recommendations, plans for the Fire Place were significantly altered to place it as the region's centre of excellence for the development and delivery of safety awareness and education.

The revised proposals positioned the Fire Place as a catalyst for greater information, resource and work stream sharing amongst partners contributing to the safety agenda in West Yorkshire.

By engaging partner organisations, such as local authorities, PCTs, the Police, social housing organisations, probation, community organisations and private sector organisations - the Fire Place has a very positive future and is set to contribute greatly to the safety agenda in West Yorkshire.
